I stopped writing poems about 20 years ago for a complex set of philosophical reasons I detail in my book (Re-reading Poets.) So all of these poems were written between the mid-1970s and the mid-1990s. I always enjoyed reading my poems for an audience much more than publishing them, so this seemed the best and most pleasant way for me to archive them here, the ones that I like the most. Each sound file contains 5-10 poems, organized by series, theme or mood. The readings range from 5 to 15 minutes or so.
I also include a PDF of a book I compiled in April 2017 called The Mornings After (available via my author’s page.) It contains many of the poems from the sound files, along with some others. I also include a PDF of a long (mock-epic) poem I wrote in the late 1970s called Beginning Was, (also available in book form via my author’s page.) I think it’s still a fun read.
