In a letter to a friend, Samuel Taylor Coleridge described himself as “indolence capable of energies,” which applies perfectly to how I am now: three months of “energies,” writing, which depletes me, three months of “indolence,” singing and playing my guitar, which restores me. Rinse and repeat. The music I make is mostly for my own enjoyment. My original albums are archived on Bandcamp (https://paulkameen.bandcamp.com). I’ve made dozens of “cover” albums. Every now and then I put a few of them up here.
“Trouble:”a few bluesier numbers.
“Up the Lazy River with Me:” I sing a lot of Big Band era song. No idea why. Just like them. Here’s a sample.
“Stephen Foster:” An homage album to this great songwriter from Pittsburgh whose memorial statue and performance center I used to walk past on my way into or out of the Cathedral of Learning at Pitt. He wrote 300 songs, died young and destitute after a hard life.
